AFP serial interface

I am new here, have looked around some and I like it.
I want to download FMS 8.5 and use it on the same computer as my AFP, any problems there? Next, Is it possible to use the same serial port interface that came with my AFP on FMS? I use my own Futaba 6NFK and a Super 8 transmitters.

No problem with the 2 programs on one computer but the AFP interface is proprietary. It only works with AFP not with FMS.

I got an serial interface from milehighwings. I have downloaded and am running 2.0alpha8.5. it all works very well for about 5 minutes or so, then locks up the computer tight, or the screen goes black and I get a message "signal frequency is out of range, please change signal timing". The only thing I can do is a hot shutdown, reboot, and start over. It does seem to run a little longer if I run in "window" mode. I have XP pro, a nvidea G force 5700le 128 card with the lastest driver. I have an old (I do not know how old) MITSUBISHI 91TXM monitor. Could my old monitor be a problem? I run AFP pro and a lot of other stuff on this computer and it all works just fine.
Is there a way to stop this lock up thing?
