Sinking astern

Why do planes sink their hindquarters into the tarmac if left sitting? Can this peculiar habit be fixed?

I've seen this as normal behaviour for FMS 2.7 models when working under FMS 2.8. The way to fix it is to create a new FMS 2.8 .par file for the model. The physics in the new .par file allow for multiple collision points instead of one (the C of G) in 2.7 .par files and full landing gear control.

The .par file needs to be edited to add the 3 wheels and multiple collision points, usually nose, tail, top of vert. stab, tips of wings (2) so about 5 collision points is a minimum.

I find using Mr. Masuoka's paredit programe works best for me.

Thanks for the advice, Gary. I am using the par editor recommended and after comparing my model with one of yours (magister) I gradually am finding what affects what! The model I am playing with now doesn't smash into the tarmac and is coming along well. Lots of parameters were WAY out so no wonder it was acting peculiar.

It is quite fun being able to do some mods. Thanks again for your patience.
