parallelport interface for futaba skysport 4 - the interface does´t work

Hi guys, I have built a parallerlport cable, but the DOS interface test utility does´t detect signal. My computer is a Pentium II 233Mhz, the operating sistem is win 98, the sound card is a SB 64, the LPT1 I/O port is 378, interrupt 07. The cable is ok, but the software doesn´t detect signal.
I´d be grateful if anybody could give me any idea to solve the problem.

How are you sure your cable is OK? Have you tried measuring the signal using the txtest.exe that comes with FlyRC or just with intest.exe with FMS or maybe just with a multimeter? A too hot soldering iron can sometimes damage components. The circuit looks fine but you may have burnt something out.
So the first thing you have to find out is if the cable is really OK and maybe relying on your PC to tell you is not the best option. Once you're sure about that you can start looking for other another source to the problem. Also read all the treads in this forum exhaustively. I don't think I'm saying anything new! Good luck!

I just got my Futaba Skyport working. The ground ISN'T the center pin but the shielding is. Once I did that, everything started working like a charm. Still have some jitters (I used unshielded Cat 5 cable) but I figure it just adds "wind". :-) Also be sure and disable the SB16 Emulation "Shared IRQ" in the System Control panel or FMS won't work in Windows.

how did u do it. i have a futaba skysport 4vf and i dont understand any of the instructions on the site (i dont do much stuff like this)

you said you have a sound blaster 64 card...go under system settings and your sound card and disable the box that says "enable irq sharing" that seems to be the problem with most people.
