Hello RC Simmers!
I have just completed a model of the
.
The is the smallest
airship of the Air Solutions fleet. The
actual airship is used for advertising and aerial photos.
It can be a little daunting to fly an airship as at zero thrust
it is usually neutrally bouant and when thrust is applied the
airfoil shape of the gas envelope provides lift like a
symmetrical airfoil. This one is a blast to fly in a gym or
in the world.scn file.
This FMS RC Model is half size of the actual.
Span: .839 m
Weight: .454 kg, helium envelope reduces flying weight
Motors: 2 x Speed 350
Prop: 9x7
Batts: 4S1P LiPoly 3700mAh
The rudder on the aileron channel is a personal preference for
all my 3 channel models.
The .par file has several compromises in it due to the FMS flight
engine getting very confused when an airplane is at zero speed with
a nose high angle-of-attack. This FMS model will always move forward
at a very leisurely pace to keep tail slides to a minimum. That means
it will never exactly float, but it will slow down a lot with zero
throttle and nose held high with the elevator.
If you tail slide this model, you will usually have to restart it
with the "I" or "R" keys.
offers several different airship platforms for
indoor and outdoor photography and advertising.
Any comments welcome. Thanks for flying!
