Serial Interface for T6NFK - Help needed for beginner

Ok, I seen all the nice Ebay auctions for FMS with a cable to connect to my parallel port. I have a Futaba T6NFK FM and I want it to connect to my serial port as I run Windows XP at home. I would like to build it myself as well. I think i will need the PIC controller as well though. Any help is apprecaited in getting these parts and making them work. Also do I have to run an FM transmitter? My friend has an AM radio and wanted to use it, but all I ever seen was FM listed.

AM transmitters work just like FM transmitters. FMS used the PPP signal before it is sent to the transmition section of the radio.

Does the AM transmitter have a trainer coard connector?

Yep, the AM radio has a trainer port on it. I just wanted to make sure. It is a Futaba also...
