motocalc and fms - thrust settings

After the flood of replies I received :\ from my last post (airfoils), I figured I'd try again.

Playing with motocalc, it gives thrust in Newtons for different speeds.

How does that relate to the thrust figure in FMS ?

Is the FMS thrust "max static" thrust ?

Sorry, but I can't answer your question.

However, wouldn't it be neat if FMS and MotoCalc could interrelate with each other!
I could then test fly all my own designs! (for which I have already entered the requisite parameters into MotoCalc.)

The FMS simulation is made very simple. Thrust is constant during the simulation. (That means thrust does not depend on the speed). So I would say it's something between max static thrust and thrust at a specific speed.

i believe that the fms thrust setting is the maximum thrust the motor will produces. this setting is in newtons.

what i do not know is at what speed this is since the amount of thrust in real life is affected my the speed of the model. maybe fms just uses a constant thrust though?

at this site there is a prop selector calculator deal that if you know how big a prop and how fast the engine spins it it will tell you how much thrust it creats in Newtons, lbs, Kilograms, o.z., or whatever.

they also have a lift coeficient calculator wich is helpfull. this is freeware too.
