Can I use a buddy box and not transmitter?

Postby dmincin » Fri May 24, 2002 3:23 am

I did a search and see this question asked over a year ago, but no answer.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use an actually trainer buddy box to connect to a PC? I don't have a transmitter or plane yet, but I want to practice with FMS. I was thinking I could buy a buddy box off of Ebay for $20 and use that to learn.

Is this possible? Has it been done before? I would think there are atleast potentiometers on the sticks that could be rigged up for some type of joystick interface, right?

Thank you for any help!

Dave.

Yes it's possible. You may need to get a battery for the buddy box though. They often don't have one as it is not needed for training as the power comes from the other transmitter.
