Old Dave Brown box works! - Interface

I had an old 1987 Dave Brown Flight Simulator that I was about to throw out when I came upon the FMS software. It works fine for both the helicopters and the airplanes. The transmitter is the old "tan" 2 stick, 3 button model and is set up as a regular analog joystick using the standard microsoft drivers (windows98, 2nd edition). For the planes I've got the channels set to rudder 4, elevator 2, aileron 1 and throttle 3. For helicopters tail 4, nick 2, roll 1 and pitch 3. Hopefully this is helpful to some folks who have the old Dave Brown boxes. I'm just tickled it works

I just bought the sim package from vitualrcflight. It has not had time to arrive. But I did download the software and it works great from the keyboard. I too have the old brown/tan box from db sim and I'm wondering if you could elaborate a little farther on how you got it to work.
1) what did you choose in controllers in control panel?
2) did you download the circuit package, if so, in what folder did you put that?
3) what did you choose for the interface?
And anything else you could add in detail would be greatly appreciated!

whoa.
ofcourse my first post was made before I tried your suggestions.
Very cool, it works. ha ha, how bout that.
I chose 3 axis 4 button in game controllers in control panel, I also chose joystick in the interface analog controller in the program and ran the calibration and it works great although the heli is a little mushy and I have not figured out invert yet, the planes fly great.

OK.
I get it now.
heres the steps I took to get all 4 axis working with the dave brown box.
in game controllers in control panel choose custom, choose 4 axis and 3 buttons name it, choose ok and add.
go into the program and choose controls, analog control, select joystick interface. then assign:
rudder to 4
elev to 2
ail to 1
throttle to 3
tail to 4
nick to 2
roll to 1
pitch to 3
Then run the calibration, follow the instructions and bingo.
This has probably been discussed somewhere here already but I'll put up my findings as well to help the next guy.
