Futaba 9c - Help

I have a shiney new Futaba field force 9c. I have the Ripmax joystick interface and also an adapter lead to convert my Futaba square socket to round. I have been flying helis on FMS with a Futaba skysport with no problems. As soon as I try with my new tranny I cannot calibrate anything. I cannot calibrate in Windows ME as it seems like all the controls are either disabled or wrongly configured (rudder is worked by the VRc knob !!!).
FMS is great but I need help, it is driving me nuts, I have tried everything to get it calibrated but nothing works.

Your interface will probably be taking the first 4 channels and using these for the 4 joystick axes. Have you tried different transmitter modes to see if this helps. Try a very basic power model with no mixing first. The fact that you are able to control something suggests that you do have a connection.
