If your master-trainer connector looks the same as the five-pin connector on the back side of my Sanwa RD6000 then you will have no problems with a serial-interface as shown on the site:
[url=http://www.freebox.com/rasmus-modellflyg/fms/manual/handbok.html#Seriell

It´s]http://www.freebox.com/rasmus-....

It´s[/url] a swedish "offspring FMS-site" and the serial-interface shown on the picture uses a 3,3 kohm and three 5,6 kohm resistors, two transistors, one male five-pin connector for the Sanwa RD6000 controller and a female 9-pin connector for the computer com-port.

The Sanwa master-trainer connector is shown on the same site (a link to a description of the Sanwa connector) and uses pin nr 2 = ground and pin nr 3 = Signals.

I had no problem what-so-ever connecting my Sanwa RD6000 into the serial-interface to the computer com-port. I used a computer with a 333MHz Athlon processor and Win98 operative system.

My advise to you is : Go ahead and build the interface. Don´t expect any trouble, it´s actually a piece of cake to make it work! Enjoy...
/Best regards Christer

Did you figure out how to build an Airtronics interface? This link above didn't work for me.

Thanks,

Greg

I did.

Look for my post under parallel interfaces.
Search for RD6000.

Chris. I have just set up a serial link for a Sanwa Vangard. Signal is pin 3, ground is the screen. See my website for improved serial interface.

I need some info please...

I have an oldish Sanwa Tx that I intend building a serial interface for, and I intend to keep it for computer use only (with MFS and MS/CFS, not *real* flying).

I haven't a clue as to *which* Tx it is but it is 6 channel, with FM module. It has a round meter and a rotary on/off switch. The b/b socket is a 5 pin din (180 deg) situated at the bottom right of the front face.

Q1) Which pins are signal and ground?
Q2) Do I remove the FM module?
Q3) Once it's calibrated, will I need to recalibrate when I switch from one sim to another?
Q4) I presume it's ok to use a power supply?
Q5) Can I use the spare channels (gear & aux) as buttons if I replace the switch and pot with push-switches? CFS isn't much fun if I can't shoot...
TIA. RR

Rockfist
The interfaces posted here are designed specifically for use with the FMS flying model simulator which has special software to read the serial/parallel port input. They are not an alternate for the joystick input used by many PC games.

I hope this helps.

If you use a Joystick interface instead of the serial interface you can do what you want including the button simulation to fire missels. :D

The problem is getting the correct signals into the computer that the other "Games" can use.

You need a new interface like the PIC version I see you're already asking about. The simple serial interface doesn't work with Win 2K or XP.
