Peter,

There are already numerous sailplanes that look very close. You should be able to just modify the .par file to adjust performance or if you can't find a T-Tail version, consider using another persons .mqo file as a starting point and modifying it to become the Last Down.

Check out Neo's site. There are several powered gliders there that look like good candidates and the .mqo file is included.

Had a bit of time on my hands this evening, and I already had one of my own design models that was similar to the Last Down, so I did some modifications and got somewhere close.

The surface detail is a bit basic as I haven't done a bitmap for it yet (it only has the basic blue and white body with canopy), and I ahve no idea how it flies so I used my thermal model .par file.

Have a look and let me know what you think...

(You will need to press 'R' to throw the model, it won't ROG)

Nice job. Well done. One question, which setting in the .par file makes the plane seem to keep accelerating faster and faster. Is that caused by a low drag coefficient?

Hadn't noticed that before! Just had a bit of a fiddle around with the model and Your guess is just about right...

The power of the motor was a bit high, giving it a maybe too ballistic speed but I've mad the following changes to the drag settings:

Wing Coefficient - 0.0025
Fuz Coefficient - 0.0035
Rise of drag coefficient - 1.8

I also lowered the motor power to 5N and the performance of the model, whilst somewhat reduced, seems to be a bit more challenging!

Made the same adjustments to the .par file and it now feels much more realistic while flying. The dives from altitude with your model are very cool and look just like real high performance sailplanes.
