How does it look? it's my first plane, so I don't really care if you say it sucks, but I did my best.

the colors don't work when I export it though... :(

Like I said, the colors don't really work at the moment, but here are some screenshots:

Looks excellent for a first plane!

If you're still having trouble with the colour, and can't figure it out, feel free to send me the files and I'll have a look for you.

Cheers

Ok, I will, I got something working, but it's not the right stuff, so I'll send you the files, but first... how do I use the .bmp files to color the plane?

nm I give up, I used some of the bmp files for DO 355 a few minutes ago and it didn't work when I exported it to Direct3D, so maybe it's in the version... I use the 2.1 version because I don't want to register the other versions. I sent you the files mikethewanderer...

Okay,
Downloaded the files and had a quick look and I can see your problem. Metasequoia isn't that great! It can only handle a single BMP file for textures.
Using version 2.1 you need to place all your texture detail on ONE bitmap. It needs to be 256x256 pixels and 72dpi.

Have a go at that and you should find things a lot better!

Thanks, I'll try it. Do you think it is better to just go ahead and register one of the newer versions?

Mikethewanderer,
um - thats not really true...
Metasequoia does handle more than one bmp-file as well as FMS.
But you can only use one BMP per Material. But by defining some more metarials you can use as many BMPs as you want.

Metasequoia can also handle BMPs larger than 256x256 pixels. E.g. most of my models use BMPs with 512x512 pixels.
In the options you can also define wich max resolution of the textures should be used for preview within Meta.'s 3D-view panel (default is 256x256).

I think the only limitation is that the BMPs must have the same width and height (square) and FMS will have trouble with high resolution textures.... (slowes down).
:)
